Remarks: The showy flowers of M. wrightii are virtually identical to those of Coryphantha macromeris and Escobaria vivipara; in the absence of vegetative material, flowers may be unidentifiable.

Etymology: The varietal epithet honours the early plant collector Charles Wright (See also: Glandulicactus wrightii)
 

Conservation status: Listed in CITES appendix 2.
 


Big fruits, big flowers!!!    This winter hardy Mammillaria produce fruits of a very pleasant taste.
