Ruffled striate tepals delicate salmon with  fine pink vein.


 

Description: Strong cultivar of unknown origin.
Stem: Semi columnar, up to 8 cm  in diameter, 25 cm tall..
Central spines:
Up  to 4,5 cm long.
Flower: Up to 12 cm across. Tepals: Obovate
to oblanceolate that are often apically retuse, peach-pink marked with fine  lilac-pink  veins,  nicely ruffled, delicate, the outer petals have honey tones. Throat-circle: Clear pink. Filaments: Bright reddish-pink with cream anthers. Stigma: White.

Cultivation: This plant is a summer grower species that offers no cultivation difficulties. Water regularly in summer (but do not overwater ) needs good drainage and very porous soil, keep rather dry in winter. Feed with a high potassium fertilizer in summer. Need a bright exposure, full sun or half shade in summer if the location is exceedingly hot or bright.

Outer stamens  filaments pink, throat stamen  filaments red. Whitish anthers. Stigma pure white, throat circle light pink.

Conservation status: Listed in CITES appendix 2.


 

 



"PINK Nr. 1" is a hybrid of unknown origin
A few specimen are variegated.
