  1. In Biology: a specimen is an individual organism from a scientific sample, for example an individual plant of a certain species, subspecies, form, etc.
     
  2. In Taxonomy: it is an individual organism regarded as typical of taxonomic  group

  A group of clones derived by vegetative or asexual multiplication from a single individual and forming a single entity.  
     
(3) Specimen [ Horticulture ]
     
  It horticulture is commonly named specimen any individual plant or animal belonging to a certain species, variety or cultivar
