Perigynous   [ Botany ]

  Around the gynoecium, referring to perianth segments (sepals, petals) and stamens that are attached directly but not fused to the rim of a  lateral or upward cup-shaped hypanthium that surrounds a superior ovary. In this case, the ovary is completely free from the outer hypanthium.
